Dropoff Analytics
Drop-Off Analytics in Lantern Events offers a focused lens on where and when users disengage from your quizzes. This feature is invaluable for identifying friction points within your quiz flow and allows you to make data-driven decisions to enhance user engagement. Below is how you can access and make the most out of Drop-Off Analytics.
Accessing Drop-Off Analytics
To navigate to Drop-Off Analytics, log into your Lantern dashboard and proceed to the Advanced Analytics section accessible from the main menu on the left-hand side. Within the Lantern Events panel, select Explore Events, and you will find Drop-Off Analytics situated in the bottom right corner of the interface.
Understanding the Drop-Off Analytics Interface
Drop-Off Analytics provides a comprehensive view of user engagement across different stages of the quiz. Here’s what the interface entails:
- Quiz Selection: At the top, select the quiz you wish to analyze.
- Graphical Display: The data is presented in a bar graph format, where each bar represents a step in the quiz such as a completed question (where an answer was submitted), a submitted email, a skipped email step or a results page displayed. This visual setup helps you quickly identify where the highest user drop-offs occur.
- Dynamic Data Interaction: By hovering over each bar, you can view the exact number of users who completed that particular step, offering a clear quantitative assessment of engagement at each point.
In our example, if you select the "Find your perfect food - LIVE", and observe the engagement from the start to the end of a typical month, you might notice a significant drop-off at the question "How active is your pet?".
Why Questions May Not Appear in Sequential Order
It’s important to note that in Drop-Off Analytics, questions will not appear in the sequential order they are presented in the quiz. This is because users might navigate through the quiz non-linearly due to logic jumps or conditional branching designed within your quiz. These elements allow for a personalized quiz experience but mean that the analytical view must adapt to show user behavior rather than a fixed question order.
Utilizing Insights from Drop-Off Analytics
Drop-Off Analytics provides strategic insights into where potential improvements can be made within your quiz. By understanding where users most frequently disengage, you can streamline quiz content, simplify complex questions, or reorder steps to enhance flow and maintain user interest. Implementing changes based on these insights can significantly improve completion rates and overall effectiveness of your quizzes.
